MAINZEAL WINS LION NATHAN CONSTRUCTION ROLE
Mainzeal has confirmed its strong position in the NZ Construction market by securing the prestigious contract to build Lion Nathan's new Brewery in East Tamaki, Jenny Shipley, Chairman of Mainzeal Property and Construction Ltd said today.
Since the appointment of Mainzeal's new Chief Operating Officer, Peter Gomm in April 2007, Mainzeal has had a strong year under the leadership of a completely revamped management team and has made significant progress in all areas of operations and financial performance.
Mainzeal has won significant new work in the past six months throughout the country, exemplified by the contract for Lion Nathan in Auckland and the Supreme Court in Wellington. As a result of the newly awarded contracts, Mainzeal is enjoying a strong work back-log from a diverse group of clients of the highest calibre.
At last week's board meeting, Richina Land, which includes Mainzeal, welcomed management's confirmation of a solid return to profitability in 2007 with further improvement in profits expected for future years.
All the recently completed projects by Mainzeal have largely been on time and budget and met profit expectations. We are particularly proud of two recently completed projects, the largest New Zealand corrections facility at Spring Hill and the new Sovereign office building on Smales Farm in Auckland, one of the "greenest" buildings in New Zealand. Both these projects have won widespread praises form our clients and their tenants.
Parent Company Richina Pacific Limited (RPL) has been so impressed with the environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of the Sovereign building that it has incorporated into the final designs of its planned office development in downtown Shanghai as many of Sovereign's "green" features as possible. At this stage RPL expects to complete this building in late 2009, and it is their goal that this will be one of the greenest buildings in Shanghai.
Richina Land and Mainzeal are committed to follow the maximum possible environmentally sustainable and energy efficient designs in all its future property developments in both China and New Zealand, building on our well established reputation of constructing world class facilities, Jenny Shipley concluded.
