Mainzeal Has Another Win In Wellington

Mainzeal made another strong showing at the Wellington Registered Master Builders Awards, winning the Commercial Project of the Year Award for the third year in a row.

Mainzeal project The Rock at the Wellington Airport was a clear winner in the eyes of the judges.

“The Rock was a difficult build because of its complexity, shape and detailing,” judges said.

“The site was restrictive, as the existing international airport terminal had to continue to operate while building took place. Despite the complexity, the internal link to the existing building has been very well done.”

“The outside of the building is quite radical and different, but when you go inside it is functional and has a great feel about it. The interior space is a welcoming and enjoyable place to be,” they said.

“The builder has made a superb job of a very innovative and extremely difficult structure to build.”

Last year Mainzeal took out Wellington’s top honours with the Supreme Court Building.

Mainzeal also entered the Buddle Findlay office fitout project in this year’s awards and the judges recognised the project with a Gold Award.
