Mainzeal is committed to its leading role in the management of health and safety in the construction industry. The company routinely exceeds industry benchmarks for health and safety performance – this commitment is reflected in statistics.
Our commitment to health and safety is also recognised in many other ways:
- Mainzeal is a founding member of Site Safe New Zealand Inc, an industry organisation established by major construction companies to address safety concerns.
- Mainzeal holds a tertiary level in the ACC Partnership Programme, which is a direct reflection of our AS/NZS 4801 accredited safety management system. The company manages all staff injuries independently, seeking the best treatment available through our fast-track to recovery programme.
- Participation in various safety forums, disseminating information and training through to our subcontractors and suppliers
- Mainzeal has been instrumental in the development of the now industry-wide Safety Liaison Groups and is a strong advocate of site-based Toolbox Talks
- Extensive quality system in place, which is certified to the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard. Mainzeal also undergoes regular internal and external audits.
- The publication of a Quality, Safety & Environmental Manual
- Regular policy updates, drafted from key directives from the Mainzeal Board and senior management team, and covering vision and core values, quality policy, health and safety policy, environmental policy and rehabilitation policy.
- Regular procedural updates, which are maintained on the Mainzeal intranet site.
- Project Management Plans – each project comes with documentation that demonstrates how the company quality-management system applies. The plan also includes requirements for safety management and environmental management.
