Continued growth in the 21st century, with major construction projects including Vector Arena, Spring Hill Corrections Facility, Two Double Seven shopping mall redevelopment, Tararua Wind Farm infrastructure, Defence House and Rotorua Energy Events Centre.

  • Work on many large construction projects through the 1990s. These included the Wellington Airport Terminal, North Harbour Stadium and Riccarton Mall redevelopment, and landmark restoration projects – notably the refurbishment of Parliament Buildings and the Wellington Town Hall
  • Expansion in early 1990 to provide Development, Construction, Interiors, International, Parking, Investments and Project Management divisions

  • Merger with Leyland Growth

1986

  • Refloating Mainzeal Group as a public company

1983

  • Management buyout under the directorship of Peter Menzies

1980

  • Acquiring the Gilberd Hadfield Piling Co Ltd, which enabled Mainzeal to extend into a wide range of heavy engineering projects

1973

  • Floating of the company on the New Zealand sharemarket

1968 - 1979

  • Construction of Manukau City Centre

1969

  • Construction of the $40m Auckland Harbour Board Downtown Redevelopment Scheme - Mainzeal’s first New Zealand project, which was a joint venture with Dillingham Corporation and the Fletcher Group
